Even before accepting the role of School Librarian, Derek has always had a passion for promoting reading by helping students to find the “just right” book(s) to get them excited. He is a 15-year educator from St. George, UT currently in his 3rd year working at an 8-9 middle school having previously spent 8 years teaching 4th and 5th grades, 2 years at SEDC, one of the Regional Service Centers serving the Southwest part of the state, and 2 years as a School Librarian at a 6-7 intermediate school.
