Machelle Maxwell has taught for 34 years in the states of California, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah. She has taught from 1st grade to Freshmen in Junior College. She graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a BA in Elementary Education and a minor in History. While teaching in California she worked on a Masters in Reading from California State Bakersfield. While in Texas Machelle worked for Susan Kovalik as a national trainer in Integrated thematic instruction. Upon her move to Cedar City, Utah she earned her National Boards in Adolescent Literature for 5th-9th grade, served as a state mentor for Utah and taught 7th grade at Cedar Middle School. She also earned her gifted and talented endorsement from SUU and an ESL endorsement. In Oklahoma she taught High School English and started an AP Literature and Language class. For the last 9 years Machelle has been in Uintah School District and has served as an instructional coach, and Gifted and Talented teacher. She has been the Uintah High School Library Media Specialist for the last 4 years. In addition, she is the National Honor Society Advisor and the assistant advisor for the Sterling Scholar program. Recently, she completed her library media endorsement and will graduate in July with a Masters in Instructional Design and Technology.
