The position of LMETS will oversee the Media Center and provide school-wide training and support in the areas of information literacy, technology literacy and literacy acquisition. This position requires significant time teaching staff about information literacy and integrating technology in the classroom. It also requires providing school-wide technical support and media center supervision.
• Oversees media circulation and catalog systems, budgets, collection development, and supervision of media clerk/secretary.
• Teaches Utah’s Online Library, library layout, internet safety, and the evaluation of internet sites to staff and students.
• Provides training or information literacy, technology literacy and literacy acquisition.
• Supports the network with the setup of computers, operating systems, managing users, and the installation of application software.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Utah teaching license required. Classroom experience preferred.
• Library Media endorsement required, or currently pursuing a Library Media endorsement, or will immediately enroll and successfully complete a Library Media endorsement program.
• School Technology Specialist experience preferred.
• Experience integrating current technology applications and information literacy skills in the classroom.
• Strong organizational, management, and public relation skills.
• Knowledge of adolescent literature.
• Knowledge of the Big 6 research skills, MARC records and cataloging principles and project based learning
• Knowledge of Windows and MAC operating systems, Google Apps for Education, Microsoft Office, internet, mobile devices, interactive whiteboards/TV, and other current classroom technologies.
• Troubleshooting hardware / software problems.

Job Announcement

This is a technology break/fix position.
Looking for a high school graduate who enjoys troubleshooting issues with computers, printers and other issues related to technology. Prefer if those who have at least 24 college credits. Great job while you go to school. Will train but must be comfortable with a basic knowledge and understanding of Windows 10, Office 365, Google Suite, and able to troubleshooting tech problems. Needs to be self motivated, organized, punctual, and willing to do other tasks as assigned.
This is a 29 hour position with the starting pay of $11.49.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $11.49 to $15.00 /hour

Work with LMETS (Technology Specialist)

• Self-motivated, but able to take directions from supervisors

• Help manage Chromebooks, iPads, and PCs

• Basic computer skills, including Google Drive

• Able to perform assigned tasks without direct supervision

• Diagnose, fix and report problems with student technology

• Able to learn new computer skills as updates happen

• Catalog, shelve and manage school library, including student check-in and check-out

• Create monthly promotional library materials

• Manage monthly library reports
This is a 19 hour per week position and requires Friday morning hours.
High school diploma required, some college preferred.
