Before accepting her current position as librarian at The McGillis School, Heather served as Senior Librarian for Children’s Programming & Outreach with Salt Lake County Library. She was an American Library Association Emerging Leader in 2017 and the Utah Library Association’s Librarian of the Year in 2014. Heather loves informational works for children, and is honored to have served on the 2021 Sibert Award Committee. One of her professional goals is to increase the use of diverse books in Utah’s public, charter, and independent schools. Heather loves camping, especially in the mountains, is an avid reader and an enthusiastic knitter.
