SUU UELMA Boot Camp

Our second annual bootcamp was a great success with 45 attendees, more than double the number of participants from last year! School librarians as well as Librarian Paraprofessionals from all around Utah attended two days of training on the campus of SUU to gain valuable skills and network with fellow librarians.  A number of attendees even chose to stay in the dorms and got to experience the nostalgia of their college days.

Many thanks to Caitlin Gerrity of Sherratt Library at SUU and the presenters from SEDC, SUU,  and UEN who helped make this workshop a great success, and especially the UELMA Professional Development Committee.

UELMA hopes to continue to be part in offering annual professional  development opportunities like the summer bootcamp.

Without the right training and support with PD, an investment in hardware is likely to fail.

This year at UCET we’d like to focus on the human side of tech.

How technology can help us build relationships, engage our students in collaboration, and take student innovations and ideas to the next level.

Keynotes include Manoush Zomorodi, a podcast host, author, and relentless examiner of the modern human condition. As host of Note to Self, the podcast from WNYC Studios, she unpacks the forces shaping our accelerating world and guides listeners through its challenges.
